Chartreuse Hair Studio opened in October 2009. Chartreuse Hair Studio was named after the 1942 jazz song, “(You dyed your hair) Chartreuse” by Lois Jordan and His Tympany Five. There is a line in the song about Chestnut Street, which the windows of the salon face.

Owner / Stylist
Since 1999 Kimberly Lewis has facilitated her experience and adept listening skills to create individually designed shapes and colors. Her styles range from edgy, bold and higher contrast to the classic, lower maintenance options, while ensuring they are age appropriate. The styles are determined for different lifestyles and the client’s level of styling ability. Kim started her career in Lubbock, TX at the Bijou Hair Studio, which was an Aveda concept salon. She was there for five years until moving to San Marcos where she earned a degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in photography from Texas State University. The diversity of her experience and education reflects her proven track record of positive client recommendations.
Stylist
Madeline has over seven years of experience in the hair industry and a background in sculpture. Her knowledge of balance and harmony in design lends itself to creating dynamic cuts and dimensional colors customized to each individual. Weather you’d like a subtle, natural look, or something bolder, she’s got you covered!
Owner / Stylist
With over a decade of industry experience as both a stylist and an educator, Sherri looks to her passion for painting, photography and architecture as inspiration for her hair designs. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee and became a hairstylist in 2001. Sherri strives to create unique, wearable color and shapes paired to the client's individual lifestyle. She communicates extensively with each client to ascertain his or her styling needs, and draws from a portfolio that ranges from subtle, classic styles to trend forward, edgy street statements. Sherri as trained a the Wella Studios in New York and Los Angeles, the Arroyo Advanced Academy, New York and has worked as a color educator with Wella. Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Sherri and her husband now call San Marcos their home.
