Beer Creek BMX:
Gone but not forgotten

All good things must come to an end. Beer Creek BMX no longer exists. It was a wonderful place and time. Remember good times gone by with a smile. Embrace the bittersweet memories in life. Huge thanks to Bill Fears, Amber Moon, Jeff Files, Turner Collie, Kevin Gentry & Earl Ortiz!

Started in February of 2006, Beer Creek BMX was hidden deep in the woods of North Texas. Locked up behind barbed wire on Private Property. Invite only. No bulldozers, no lawsuits, no drama. Designed and built by Todd Moon. 100% unique hand made BMX trails. We had tree houses, forts, foxholes, benches, BBQs, bridges, and fire pits. There were 2 main lines - Snake and Coyote. They criss crossed and weaved through a whole lot of trees. Of all the trails in Texas; Beer Creek BMX unofficially claimed to have the longest “Snake line”. Bring beer, leave your attitude.

"Face to the Earth, back to the Sun..."

Beer Creek was cut out of some of the thickest brush in Texas. Thorn vines everywhere. You can’t take a lap without fixing a flat. In the summer, the mosquitos get poison ivy and the snakes get ticks. There are Asps, Wasps, Hornets, Scorpions, Stink bugs, Fire ants, African Bees, Fleas, and Chiggers. Temperature in the shade exceeds 110. There is a big pack of hungry coyotes living here that we fed daily. The dirt here is called black gumbo and it's protected by a network roots. It doesn’t pack very well and each time it rains the dirt grows or fluffs up half an inch. But it doesn’t rain here, it floods. When it dries up, the jumps fall apart. Then the droughts last for 4 months with no rain at all. Digging ain’t easy but its good for the soul.

Beer Creek BMX salutes:

Trail builders and beer runners. Anyone who has ever had their trails plowed. Anyone who has ever had their jumps destroyed. Had their tools stolen or broken. Anyone that has lost a good woman, friend or a job over the love of dirt. People who show up at the trails with only shovels and no bikes. People who dig, while everyone else is riding. People that call in sick to work on rainy days just to go dig. People who dig to just be alone. The sad person who buries his best friend by some old jump.

We proudly shake muddy hands. We respect people not for their skills or talents but for their work ethic, actions and attitude. Cheers to teams of friends who stack thousands of pounds of earth in the name of BMX. Keep on Digging!
